One Gas ES&H Coordinator in Austin, Texas
Position Description:
Plans and administers environmental, safety, and health programs for designated region.
Assist with the development and implementation of environmental, safety, and health programs, along with applicable DOT programs.
Develop, maintain, and implement procedures and policies to ensure compliance with various state, federal government, and ONE Gas programs and regulations related to environmental, safety, and health.
Provide information, consultation, and/or advice to area management, employees, customers, and facility contractors to ensure health and safety.
Serve as a liaison for the company with city/county/state/federal officials, and others regarding proper safety practices in all areas.
Ensure incidents are investigated, including employee accidents, contractor incidents, property damage, environmental releases, compliance deviations and near misses and complete appropriate reports.
Develop, revise and conduct applicable regulatory training, including new employee training (as specified by position).
Compile, prepare, and/or verify information including but not limited to:
Safety inspection reports
Accident/first aid reports/injury reports
ESH metrics, measures and statistics
Audit reports (internal and/or external)
Action item tracking
Industrial Hygiene monitoring reports
Spill/release/deviation reports
Regulatory reports
Hazardous communication and documentation
Analyze and interpret data from accident and loss event reports to identify causes, trends and relationships. Ensure corrective actions from audits, incidents investigations, etc. are tracked to completion.
Assist in the development of engineering and administrative controls to eliminate hazards and causes of exposures, accidents and loss events and to reduce the probability or severity of injuries and illnesses.
Establish and implement techniques for periodic and systematic evaluation (i.e., auditing) of hazard control and hazard control program effectiveness.
Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job.
Employee may be required to perform additional duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
Preferred Associate's Degree safety, environmental technology or an equivalent combination of formal education and the following job related experience:
Experience and thorough knowledge of company, state and federal governmental operating/safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
Experience monitoring, analyzing, and making recommendations relative to compliance with ESH governmental laws and regulations.
Experience with application of basic math and algebraic formulas.
Experience in use and function of tools and equipment applicable to position including accessing computers and applicable software.
Experience and training related to (as specified by position):
Transmission, gathering, and distribution system operations
Natural gas processing operations
Natural gas liquids processing, transportation and storage operations
Process Safety Management
Risk Management Program
Regulatory compliance processes and reporting
Handling emergency/difficult situations
Communication skills
Incident investigations
Experience reading and interpreting manuals, reports, governmental regulations, directives, journals, policies, procedures, and correspondence.
Experience composing, compiling, and preparing reports and correspondence.
Experience interacting, advising, training and communicating effectively.
Experience developing information and making presentations.
Demonstrated ability to read and write fluently in English.
Minimum Applicable driver's license. Requires travel to job sites throughout region.
Mobility to travel in office surroundings and around job sites out of doors.
Able to operate tools and equipment required.
Communicate and/or exchange verbal information or instructions.
Visual abilities sufficient to perform job duties.
