Position Description:
What You Will Do
Perform an intermediate level of work in installing and maintaining measurement, regulation, and related equipment.
Install, test, repair, and maintain measurement and regulator settings and relief valves.
Perform gas measurement and regulation on transmission and distribution pipeline systems including:
Pigging lines
Locate lines
Blow drips
Change charts
Fill odorant pots
Regulate gas flow and pressure
Monitor dew points
Collect gas samples
Conduct dead weight and transfer prover tests on meters and changes orifices on regulators.
Maintain company vehicle.
Process charts and prepare reports including:
Line location
Regulator installation and removal
Operational tests, repairs, and maintenance
Mileage reports
Time sheets
Leakage/line patrol reports
Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job.
Employee may be asked to perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
What You Will Need
Experience in measurement and regulation equipment installation and maintenance.
Experience in use, function and repair of tools and equipment used to measure and regulate the flow of gas.
Working knowledge of application of basic arithmetic: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division (tested). Apply formulas to calculate gas load requirements.
Experience with:
Company and governmental operating/safety procedures
Change charts
Basic customer service activities
Characteristics of natural gas
Working knowledge of transmission and distribution pipeline system operations.
Knowledge of orifice, positive, and dry flow meter operation.
Experience reading and interpreting maps, plats, atlas pages, work logs, job orders, use rates, charts, and operational and repair manuals.
Read and write fluently in English.
Applicable driver's license
Lift or move objects weighing up to 10 pounds 10-15 times a day; up to 20 pounds 5-10 times a day; up to 30 pounds 5-10 times a day; over 50 pounds 3-5 times a day.
Travel over uneven terrain including:
Mud
Gravel
Sand
Rocks
Ice
Snow
Climb fences; walk, stand, kneel/stoop, and driving for extended periods.
React immediately to emergency situations to prevent injury to self and others.
Smell odorant in natural gas.
Detect and react to warning signals at work sites.
Operate tools and equipment.
Communicate and exchange information or instructions including use of company two way radio.
Accurate depth perception.
Visual abilities to perform job responsibilities.
