One Gas Manager, Permit Acquisition in Austin, Texas
Manage and/or coordinate activities related to planning and implementation of construction projects. Manage permits, code requirements, prerequisites and legal requirements related to construction projects. Perform functions related to compiling and preparing departmental and project-based budgets.
Manage employee duties and responsibilities related to permit acquisition for construction projects.
Coordinate, direct, perform, and/or approve activities relative to the acquisition of utility permits for the distribution system including but not limited to federal, state and local governmental code requirements, construction plans and approval of prerequisites, prerequisite material/equipment specifications and tracking and environmental permit oversite coordination.
Calculate project, investment, and operational cost estimates, forecast and evaluate work levels, determine efficiencies and enhancements and conduct studies relative to construction projects.
Coordinate projects among federal, state and local governmental agencies, districts, departments and contractors including but not limited to bid proposals and contracts, operational issues, material specifications and selections, construction and/or relocation projects, right-of-way and federal, state and local governmental agency codes.
Provide technical assistance to management, employees, governmental/regulatory personnel, contractors, producers, manufacturers, and others on matters including but not limited to equipment/system design, acquiring permits for design, construction, operation and maintenance of facilities, policy and procedures, plats, right-of-way documentation and software enhancement research and development.
Research, compile, prepare, verify and/or approve information including but not limited to job order requests, budget and forecasts, contracts and agreements, federal, state and local governmental rules, regulations, codes and standards, economic evaluations/cost estimates, contracts for permits, policy and procedures, material prerequisite specifications/selections.
Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job.

Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with previous experience in permit acquisition and operating functions, or an equivalent combination of formal education and the following job-related experience:
Experience with and thorough knowledge of activities related to the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of construction projects.
Experience with and thorough knowledge of industry standards and federal, state and local governmental regulations applicable to the position.
Working knowledge of and application of math, algebraic formulas, statistical methods, and calculus.
Experience in use and function of office equipment including accessing server locations and/or software applications.
Experience and training related to:
Organizational skills managing many facets of information
Company/governmental operating and safety procedures
Researching material failures
Computer software and programs
Experience researching, identifying, evaluating, and prioritizing operational problems or situations and determining appropriate action/response.
Experience researching and preparing project material and design specifications, contracts, agreements, budgets, and various reports, forms, and correspondence.
Experience reading and interpreting governmental regulations, references, journals, construction plans, blueprints, contracts, manuals, reports, specifications, and correspondence.
Experience interacting, advising, and communicating effectively.
Demonstrated ability to supervise, direct, and/or delegate work assignments. Knowledge of personnel policies and procedures.
Experience developing information and making presentations to groups and individuals.
Demonstrated ability to read and write fluently in English.
Mobility to move in and around plant and office facilities and around job sites out of doors.
Able to operate tools and equipment required.
Able to communicate and/or exchange information; conduct oral presentations.
Visual abilities sufficient to perform job duties.
