One Gas Field Operations Supervisor-Overland Park in Overland Park, Kansas
Supervises and directs employees in construction, maintenance, and operation of distribution and/or transmission systems for a geographic area or metro service facility.
Supervise and direct employees in construction, maintenance, and operation of distribution and/or transmission systems and appurtenances including but not limited to:
Purchasing and materials
Oversee and inspect installation and/or operation of pipeline equipment and facilities including but not limited to:
Tapping/pressure control equipment
Pressure tests (air, gas, water)
Inspect, evaluate, and recommend whether to repair or replace pipe and appurtenances.
Schedule and conduct safety and training sessions for employees.
Provide information, consultation, and/or assistance to customers, contractors, inspectors, city/county/state officials, employees, and others relative to company activities, policies, and procedures.
Compile, prepare, and/or verify information including but not limited to:
Service cards/leak reports
Department metrics reports
Various budget recommendations
O&M and capital budgets
Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job.
Employee may be required to perform additional duties as assigned.
Experience with and working knowledge of the construction, maintenance, appurtenances, and operation of pipeline systems related to natural gas distribution systems.
Experience in use and function of tools and equipment applicable to position including accessing computers and related software.
Experience with the application of basic math and algebraic formulas.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate work projects for most effective use of personnel and equipment.
Experience and training related to:
Distribution pipeline operation (specified by position)
Transmission pipeline operation (specified by position)
Company/governmental operating and safety procedures
Emergency response procedures
Customer service functions
Demonstrated ability to monitor operations and situations to ensure compliance with safety policies, operator qualifications and procedures.
Demonstrated ability to interact, advise, and communicate effectively.
Demonstrated ability to train, direct, and/or supervise; working knowledge of personnel policies and procedures.
Demonstrated ability to compile and prepare reports, recommendations, and correspondence.
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret manuals, policies, procedures, permits, governmental regulations, engineering plans, maps, job specifications, reports, and correspondence.
Demonstrated ability to read and write fluently in English.
Minimum Applicable driver's license
Preferred National Association of Corrosion Engineer (NACE) Certification (as specified by position).
Mobility to travel in and around office surroundings and around job sites out of doors.
Able to assist crew members in performance of routine and/or emergency activities such as construction and maintenance; leakage detection and repair; and corrosion control.
Able to operate tools and equipment required.
Communicate and/or exchange information or instructions including use of two way radios.
Visual abilities sufficient to perform job duties.
