Performs advanced level activities related to compiling, analyzing and preparing complex financial planning models and information. Oversee day-to-day treasury operations including vendor management, processing payments, managing bank relationships, short-term cash forecasting, LOC monitoring and maintaining cash operating accounts and appropriate cash flow.
Monitor and assist with Company’s cash position and cash forecasting. Ensure minimal cash balances are maintained while also minimizing risk and interest expense. Execute electronic transfers and other necessary funding. Ensure timely vendor payment processing. Analyze bank balances and identify and implement cash efficiencies. Monitor bank account openings and closings to avoid unnecessary bank fees and mitigate account risk exposure
Manage the day to day vendor management process and procedures and ensure compliance with corporate policies and guidelines. Develop relationships with key business areas and other support functions to ensure vendor management is understood and managed appropriately. Advise and support the identification and remediation of vendor gaps.
Assist in the development, maintenance and usage of relevant applications for accounting and financial analysis activities. Perform database management in treasury workstation and update workstation as needed. Assist with implementation of treasury workstation, bank software, or other treasury technology as needed.
Perform advanced level of compilation and preparation of plan and forecast information for treasury department. Analyze and/or compare actual performance to various forecasts. Research and analyze financial statement data and industry trends. Prepare presentations of analysis in a manner that supports management in their decision-making process.
Provide guidance and training to other employees as needed. Determine employees’ training needs to produce continuous development plans. Provide on-going feedback and support to improve performance.
Analyze department processes/activities and recommend improvements.
Maintain proper documentation of activities to ensure business continuity and knowledge transfer among personnel. Implement, test, and recommend improvements for cash management contingency plans to ensure uninterrupted cash operations.
Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or other related field is required. Professional designation such as Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) is preferred. Master’s in business administration preferred or equivalent formal education to include a combination of courses such as intermediate and advanced finance, financial accounting, business communications, computer sciences, business law, or composition PLUS the following job-related experience:
Experience interpreting and applying financial planning and analysis methods and procedures.
Application of math, algebra, and statistical methods.
Experience in use of microcomputers and applicable spreadsheet, word processing, database, and presentation software such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint.
Experience and/or training related to:
Economic forecasting/modeling and planning and forecasting functions
Utility industry financial analysis functions
Experience researching, composing, reconciling, and preparing reports, studies, and correspondence applicable to position.
Experience reading and analyzing financial statements and company and investor correspondence.
Experience interacting, advising, and communicating effectively.
Experience developing and presenting information to individuals and groups. #officeoperations
