One Gas Sr. HR Consultant-Compensation in Tulsa, Oklahoma

Position Description:

Primary Job Function

  • Act as an informal leader within the broader compensation team on high-priority compensation projects and initiatives

  • Works collaboratively with the compensation team to drive enterprise compensation processes including benchmarking, pay analysis, and annual short- and long-term incentive and merit planning processes

  • Serves as a trusted internal consultant and the primary compensation point of contact for divisional senior leadership team(s)

Essential Functions

  • Ensures the consistent implementation of a base compensation and job architecture framework including job evaluation, internal and external competitive pay determination, and pay guidelines related to internal job/career movement

  • Conducts compensation benchmarking to support competitive analysis of compensation programs and performs trend analysis and industry best practices research to support decision making

  • Performs research as needed to support the Manager Compensation in solving complex compensation related issues within the business

  • Evaluates and makes recommendations on selected business changes requiring analysis (e.g., rates for new hires/salary adjustments/promotions, specialized programs, etc.)

  • Supports Manager Compensation, business leaders, and HR Business Partners in performing the annual salary review process and short-term incentive process including budget planning, system administration, leader consultation and evaluating all compensation recommendations

  • Acts as a key contributor in the development and implementation of employee and leader communications and training related to compensation items

  • Ensures consistency in applying compensation policies across the enterprise

  • Leads and/or performs other related activities as assigned

  • Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job

Position Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, related field, or an equivalent combination of formal education and the following job-related experience:

  • Experience and thorough knowledge of various compensation functions and processes involved in plan design, pay administration, and job evaluation

  • Experience analyzing, compiling, calculating, and/or preparing job information and market data. Comprehensive knowledge of job information across all business units.

  • Experience in use and function of tools and equipment applicable to position including utilizing computers (Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint)

  • Application of math and algebraic formulas.

  • Experience and training related to:

  • Human Resources computer applications (ERP/HRIS) and report-writer applications

  • Governmental regulations applicable to compensation activities

  • Human Resources policies and procedures

  • Position restructuring

  • Written communication skills

  • Interpersonal/communication skills

  • Experience developing and conducting salary, market, and/or benefit surveys, compiling data, and preparing related recommendations

  • Experience researching, analyzing, and preparing reports, questionnaires, surveys, job descriptions, policies, procedures, and correspondence

  • Experience interacting, training, and communicating effectively

  • Experience developing information, conducting meetings, and making presentations to
