ONE Gas (OGS), a premier natural gas distribution company, is looking for a Corporate Development Intern to join our team in Tulsa, OK and/or Austin, TX. You will receive challenging and exciting research and project assignments and opportunities to network with other interns and leadership. You will be placed within the department and given the opportunity to experience the type of work you might encounter in a full-time position through projects, on-the-job assignments, research, merger & acquisition due diligence, business analytics, job shadowing, and presentations. You will gain experience in financial modeling and target assessment, in-depth industry analysis, strategic evaluations, business cases and teamwork experiences.
Work assignments are anticipated to be with a hybrid work schedule.
What You Will Do
Participate by collaborating and job shadowing to learn the role and become familiar with important aspects of the utility business and main functions.
Utilize business intelligence tools to develop analytical content including reports, dashboards, and ad-hoc analyses.
Assist in the development of data architecture and data modeling of the sales lifecycle leveraging SQL, Power BI, Python, and financial analysis.
Build customer segmentation analysis to assist in outreach and retention campaigns.
Deep dive on market intelligence and macroeconomics of the dynamics of the Energy markets to strategically inform executive leadership on emerging trends.
Assess internal opportunities to maximize financial and operational efficiencies through analytic decision making, financial research, and economics.
Assist and conduct research, financial modeling, and assessments of multiple target markets.
Learn state and local regulatory structures, asset performance metrics and industry guideposts.
Perform in-depth analysis, strategic assessments and M&A opportunity evaluations.
Position Requirements:
What You Will Need
Prefer students who are projected to graduate in December 2024 or May 2025 with an undergraduate or graduate degree in Business, Business Analytics, Data Science, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Finance, or Marketing but other applicable majors may be considered.
Prefer students with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
Prefer involvement in extracurricular and community support activities demonstrating leadership. Prior work experience (entrepreneurial activities, internships, summer or part-time work while attending school, etc.).
Timeline
Applications for our summer internship program open in August. We are actively recruiting interns beginning in September. Interviews follow campus career fairs. Offers are typically extended to students by the end of October or early November.

Compensation : All ONE Gas internship positions are paid. We offer a fair and competitive pay rate.
