One Gas Gas Tech-AOC Monitoring in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Position Description:
Primary duty for this position will be to identify and report abnormal operating conditions, such as atmospheric corrosion, on company facilities.
Performs work related to customer service field and leak survey activities.
Drive and maintain company vehicle. Load, unload, and operate tools and equipment including but not limited to:
Crescent and pipe wrenches
Pliers and screwdrivers
Meters and regulators
Combustible gas indicators
Ladders
Carbon Monoxide Detectors
No Blow Equipment
FI Units
Power tools
Probe Bar
Perform and/or assist with leakage surveys on pipelines including but not limited to:
Company distribution and transmission lines
Public buildings
Downtown buildings
Schools (public and private)
Highway and railroad crossings
Manholes
Repaired and unrepaired gas leaks
Turn gas service on and off. Install, remove, and adjust gas meters, regulators, and related equipment. Respond to Natural Gas related emergencies.
Inspect, calibrate, maintain, and/or repair leakage survey tools and equipment.
Patrol and maintain pipeline markers. Complete performance encroachment investigation surveys.
Examine and adjust gas-fired equipment.
Investigate customer related orders and/or emergency situations including but not limited to:
High bills
Carbon monoxide/fumes
Pressure problems
Possible leaks
Fires
Explosions
Asphyxiations
Natural disasters
Complete and/or update reports including but not limited to:
Gas leaks and work logs
Equipment maintenance reports
Mileage reports
Time sheets
GIS Applications
Maintain various records including but not limited to:
Orders completed
Miles driven
Customer information
Leak record information and maintenance work orders
Meter inventory
Leak classifications
Yard line replacements
Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job.
Employee may be required to perform additional duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
Minimum H.S. Diploma
Working knowledge and/or training related to disconnects, reconnects, gas piping, and gas fired equipment.
Experience in use, function, and maintenance of tools applicable to position.
Experience with the application of basic arithmetic: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division (tested).
Knowledge of use and function of customer service codes and forms.
Knowledge of transmission and distribution pipeline system operations.
Working knowledge of leakage survey procedures.
Working knowledge and training relative to:
Company and governmental customer service/safety procedures
Customer service emergency procedures
Use of electronic communications (cell phones, two-way radios) and PragmaCAD system (where applicable)
Characteristics of natural gas
Basic customer service activities Changing charts
Locating lines
Experience and knowledge of basic computer usage and applicable computer software.
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret maps, blueprints, plats, atlas pages, wiring diagrams, pipe sizing tables, flow charts, house numbers, dials, gauges, work logs, service orders, and applicable operation and repair manuals.
Demonstrated ability to read and write fluently in English.
Minimum Applicable driver's license.
Minimum CDL Eligible
Lift and/or move objects weighing up to 10 pounds 10 15 times a day; up to 20 pounds 15 20 times a day; up to 40 pounds 10 15 times a day; over 50 pounds 2 3 times a week.
Climb ladders; stoop, kneel, and crawl on floors and bare ground to access, adjust, and/or repair gas fired equipment, meters, and equipment.
React immediately to emergency situations to prevent injury to self and others.
Smell odorant in natural gas.
Able to operate tools and equipment required.
Communicate and/or exchange information or instructions
Visual ability sufficient to perform job duties.
Travel over uneven terrain including but not limited to: mud, gravel, sand, rocks, ice, and/or snow
Walk, stand, kneel/stoop, and drive for extended periods.
Push spud bar in ground and extract.
